It's halfway thru the month of July and I haven't posted my July MAGAM project yet. As I mentioned in my last post, we are in the middle of a home remodeling project and sewing time is hard to come by these days - actually, my sewing room is hard to get into these days let alone find time to sew - but there is hope - we can now see a glimmer of light at the end of the remodeling tunnel so more sewing will be in my future. Yeah!
The theme for this month's MAGAM is "Sew something from a book". I actually think I suggested that theme awhile ago and am glad it has was selected for this month. I decided on my "book" project when I originally suggested the theme.
It will be out of the book Twinkle Sews by Wenlan Chia. With a name like mine, I just couldn't resist buying this book!
It's the Origami Blouse. This blouse is the main reason I bought this book (apart from the book title of course!).
Love the sleeve and neckline details.
I'll be using a wonderful Robert Talbott cotton I purchased at the little outlet store in Carmel Valley a few years ago. It's a blue on blue woven that I'm hoping will look great in this blouse. I'm not going to use a contrasting color for the bow as shown in the picture below, but instead, just use the same fabric as the rest of the blouse. I might add a little length to it too.
This project will be a two-fer! It will be the first pdf pattern I have sewn and the first pattern sewn directly from a book. Actually, it might be a three-fer because I'll be using stash fabric too! Yippee!!
That's it for today.
Happy Sewing everyone!

Hi Star, yes, I think you did suggest the theme, and it's a good one :). I didn't realise this blouse had all the lovely origami filds - it is really lovely. Can't wait to see it:)
